The Grand Tour of the Ohio Valley

Wednesday, October 1, 2025

October 1 through 5, 2025. In keeping with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix tradition of exciting and successful automotive-related events, we are announcing the ‘Grand Tour’, a new touring event starting this fall! The tour will include an exciting, informative schedule of events exploring the Ohio River Valley, shopping, meals, and other points of interest.

The Grand Tour is a five-day, all-inclusive event featuring vintage sports and GT cars. This driving tour will feature a delightful collection of scenic, twisting, and lightly traveled back roads, and we will cover approximately 100 miles per day.

Our inaugural event will be held in Marietta, Ohio, where we will experience the rich history of the Ohio River and surrounding area. Guests will stay at the historic Lafayette Hotel, where they can experience the classic elegance of the grand riverboat era. Security is included in our parking area.

Interest Form

The Tour will be limited to 20 cars. To apply, please fill out the above interest form.

Marietta and the Ohio Valley

In 1788, the Pioneers of the Ohio Company made Marietta the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory. Indulge yourself and discover our picturesque riverboat town, where the past peacefully resides with the present. Whatever the season, you can count on finding interesting places, friendly people, and exciting events that will make your trip memorable.

Extensive planning involved selecting the routes through this beautiful section of southern Ohio. These roads were chosen for their scenery and to complement the thrill of driving our sports and GT cars. The event fee of $1,975 per car (two occupants) includes four nights of lodging, four dinners at some of the best restaurants in the area, three lunches, tickets to the events, and gratuities. Alcohol purchases and breakfasts are not included, although the Lafayette Hotel will provide discount coupons for weekday breakfasts for hotel guests. Some of the scheduled activities include visiting Blennerhassett Island State Park on a small island in the Ohio River. A sternwheel riverboat will provide transportation. Once on the island, visitors can enjoy tours of the grounds and the mansion.

A private riverboat dinner provides a unique river experience, where we will enjoy a unique sightseeing tour. The riverboat will pick us up at the Lafayette Hotel dock.

A tour of a working towboat will allow for an education and insight into life working on the rivers. Morning rides for lunch will include Burr Oak Lodge in Glouster to dine among the scenic views of Burr Oak State Park. While overlooking the vineyards, we will also visit Shade Winery for their handcrafted, upscale, and international foods.

Although considerable time and effort have gone into planning this event, our primary goal is to raise money for our charities. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a non-profit that has raised over $6,754,000 for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and autism.

Thanks to the committee from our Countryside Tour for creating and planning this event.
